Calum Carlyle has been a singer, musician and songwriter since high school. Originally from the Orkney islands, he is currently resident in Edinburgh but has lived in various places in England and Australia as well. Calum was in the Orkney band The Lapels, with Kris Drever and Neil Dison, as well as Edinburgh space rock band Wascomat 73, however recently he has been concentrating on playing guitar with Neoviolet and Nicky Carder, as well as his solo work.

Calum's influences are very wide ranging. From Nick Drake to Hendrix, Aphex Twin to Monster Magnet. Calum is interested in virtually every kind of music from round the world, traditional or modern, including rap, pop, rock, ambient, techno, jazz, blues and any amount of traditional folk music from any country you can think of!
Calum's songs are mainly in English, and are usually quite upbeat and catchy.
