about us

Rising stars of the diverse underground indie scene, Manner, a West London three-piece featuring James McIrvine and Chris Ryan, exploded onto the stage in 2006. Unleashing their unique brand of thumping percussion and soaring melodies they tore their way though a number of unforgettable gigs moving up the pecking order of London. In the process, they managed to attract a loyal following of raucous fans, witnesses to the spectacular that was coming together. Supporting the likes of Ed Harcourt and the Magic Numbers, Manner were making a name for themselves, attracting admiring reviews in the Times and a number of music publications.

With the addition of Ollie Keeler on bass in 2007 the Manner sound was complete. Marrying the haunting melodies and soaring vocals of McIrvine with the complex rock rhythms of Ryan and Keeler, Manner produce an unforgettable blend. Storming live shows give way to achingly beautiful, contemplative songs on their recordings. The latest, finished barely a month ago, has already been sending ripples through the music world opening the doors to yet bigger gigs and bulking out the numbers of their loyal legion of fans. Expect to hear more from Manner later this year and the next, catch them before everybody’s heard of them.
