Ok, so thats the official bit, but if you really want to know then I guess it all officially kicked off in May 2006 when myself and Dave, unbeknownst to the promoter (sorry Craig, but we all got to start somewhere!) played our first gig ever at the Tilting Sky Festival in Norfolk, UK. It went well and we thought why not give it a shot, what have we got to loose? So, since then, Ive been writing my ass off and trying to get a band together. In the last year we've done 3 acoustic tours of Ireland, recorded a single, had national radio play in Ireland, US and the UK, played over 200 gigs (incl. supporting Seth Lakeman) and right now are in the middle of planning to record an album for release in 2009 followed by tons more of gigs and festivals!
The above recordings are from the debut EP 'A Superman' and the single 'Crawl' which is available on itunes etc. Thanks for listening and please check back for updates, plus you can find more info on our myspace page, the link of which you can find below. Cheers! xx Odi
P.S. In case you're wondering what the hec' we sound like live, check out a review from a recent gig at one of the Tilting Sky singer/soner nights at Norwich Arts Centre.
"An Irish female singer/guitar player, joined by Dave Redfearn on guitar and harmonica. Her voice covers a large range and has a powerful but haunting quality, a wonderful mix of gentle Irish tinged vocals with energetic choruses that gets inside of you and draws you in. She dedicated a track called 'A Superman' to Craig AKA 'The Tilting Sky' for all the effort that he puts into helping artists and bands get heard, which caused cheers from the audience. She sung it smiling across the room, glad to be able to have a way to say thanks, and enjoying every moment of her set. Dave, never really ever stood still, always little bobbing, tapping to the beat, joining in with Odi, the harmonies between these two were wonderful, in perfect time and complemented each other well bringing an added depth to the song. As the song got towards the end it built up, becoming faster, more emotional, and intense, to die back down to a softer finish.
She has been described as being like Suzanne Vega and I would have to agree, she has the diversity in her music to be compared to her and the likes of Sheryl Crowe"…………nitedmoshem
