FAQs
Welcome to my site.

Hopefully the answer to your question is somewhere on this page. If not mail me at bandman@bandman.co.uk.

Cheers,
Bandman.

What can Bandman do for me?

Well, a number of things. The team and I created this site to give bands all the tools they need to ‘make it’ by themselves. Therefore the site can help you:

  • manage a mailing list;
  • give you an online presence;
  • get your music heard;
  • get your music rated, giving you valuable feedback;
  • give you an opportunity to be in our unsigned chart;
  • build a gigging calendar;
  • look up promoters and venues (and see how they are rated);
  • and, of course, help you find other bands that you like.

I am always working on other things that the site can do. Just click here to tell me what other facilities you think would be helpful.

How much does it cost?

Easy - Absolutely Free.

Who is behind bandman.co.uk?

Unlike some other music sites, Bandman.co.uk is not owned or run by a giant international media owner. Bandman is run by me (bandman) and my team. The team and I started the site because we love music, we all play in bands, we delight in writing about music and we revel in reading about it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

For how long will my page last?

In theory, for ever, but remember the more you use the site the more I can do to help you.

How do I become a featured band?

I choose the featured band, but I listen to all the bands on the site. You can always drop me a message, or work hard to get your page to be one of the most visited or your songs in the charts. The higher your profile on the site the more likely I will feature you. That’s what this site is all about, a musical meritocracy. You may not be the featured band immediately but I will definitely listen to your track.

What if I am in more than one band?

Every user signs up as an individual and you can ‘manage’ as many band web pages as you want, or have time to practice with.

How do the charts work?

There are 2 charts: The first is based on the rating of the track. Therefore no.1 is the track rated the best on the site. The other is based on the number of downloads, so no.1 is the most downloaded track on the site. Remember it is downloads not listens!
