about us

“Current yet different. It swings. I could hear this in the Top Ten and wouldnae
wince!” - Alan McGee

“Well done! The best lyrics you'll hear all year and the finest example of indie
scatting ever. Friends of The Bride make me feel like I'm 17 again.” - Gideon Coe,
BBC 6Music

"...this begs for repeated plays. Great stuff... different, swingy, smart, and yet so very 2006. Maybe 2007, come to think of it." - SoundsXP

“I suggest you marvel at the swellegant splendour of Friends Of The Bride. Not least
because they have a song called 'Buckle Up Sunshine' which kicks off with the words,
"Well I was sitting in the snug having a 3-hour lunch". Plus, their single 'Want In' will
have you smoothing your hair and straightening your tie as you spin out onto the
dance floor to its perfectly balanced cocktail of finger-snapping ratpack croon and
irresistible fuzz-stomp.” - Kitten Painting

“Intelligent and good fun, I'm really feeling this. Soul music from Raynes Park!” -
Norman Jay M.B.E.

“Really good stuff from a band for which I predict a bright future.” – Robert Elms,
BBC London 94.9

Winners of the BBC Electric Proms talent-trek, as voted by the panel of Alan McGee,
Chas Smash and Gary Crowley.

'Want In' was released as 300 hand numbered 7" vinyl singles on November 6th. And
was playlisted on BBC 6Music, BBC London 94.9 and CRU Dublin. FoTB recently played live acoustic sessions for both BBC Radio London and BBC 6Music and recorded at the legendary Maida Vale Studios.

Friends Of The Bride are from Raynes Park. Apart from Samu who is from Japan.
