Spaghelli and the Dogbytes is the new live band incarnation of rap artist Spaghelli. Bassist/prr Phil Quinton's ex-bandmates Steve Hearne (guitar) and David Bateman (drums) came on board in 2006 to get the project out of Bedsit Demo Hell and onto the stages of Britain.
Genre(s):
Hip-Hop, Post-Punk, Electronica
Influences:
Indie, techno, rap, rock, punk, post-punk, new wave and hip-hop generally.
Members:
Steve Pelly - Voice
Steve Pelly has been frontman of Watford-based funk-rockers A Space + A Half in the early '90s, thrash metallers Sonic Jihad in the mid-'90s and old-skool London punks Copcar Pileup earlier this decade. He is a right-on vegetable rights anti-fascist crustie and a great drinker.
Phil Quinton - Bass/electronica
That's me. I have played bass in various half-arsed bands in London over the last ten years, more notably indie britrockers Monophobia. I am the main driving force behind this band, which is why we haven't got very far in the last year.
Steve Hearne - Guitar
Steve is a rock'n'roll veteran of 20 years service with too many very good (and some rather cheesy) bands behind him to name here. He is also the man behind Danzawobble...
David Bateman - Drums
Dave has played in every single band in London (including yours, remember?) for about ten minutes before storming out in RAGE! He has been with us for about a year, but apparently we're not really a proper band so he has nothing to rage against. We love him.
