I quite like this. Starts like something from The Beautiful South and then an Eddi Readeresque vocal pipes in.
Worth coming back for.

After giving my ears a good(?) Sraeging this morning I need something else to lessen the pain.
I like Kasabian, and the splash on the front page of this site broadcast to the world Revolve's influence by that band, along with Oasis. The shuffling beats do indeed remind me somewhat of Kasabian, or even mid-era Madchester, and the parallel grooving of the instruments also leads us that way - and then the vocals come in. A whinier, thinner sounding vocal I have seldom heard. The Liam Gallagher influence is right there in your face; I'm not a huge fan of Mr G but this is sub sub SUB that style. Its a shame, 'cos if they're been a bit more soaring and anthemic in the vocal department this could have been a contender for the twilight at a festival vibe. Unfortunately it grates, as does the "recorded through a wet blanket" kind of sound quality. Sorry if all this is a little harsh for you, but my mummy told me honesty is the best policy. There's enough there to make me want to come back.

OHMYGOD! What is the world coming to??? I turn my back for a couple of months to put my reviewing energies into the printed media for a bit and I come back and THIS is the highest rated track of all time on here.
With a blatant rip of "I Fought The Law" in the intro (although cheesily delivered) it goes on to sound like some band that could have graced the stage at the Phoenix Club on Phoenix nights. I sense skullduggery at work - 10/10 ratings for this kind of material just doesn't happen unless this site is suddenly over-run with grannies who throw their oversize bloomers on stage at STB gigs. I'm appalled at this travesty. People (REAL people) please listen and see what YOU think.
If this is NEW MUSIC shoot me now...

Like the skewed time signature - makes a pleasant change from all the strict 4/4 stuff around. Reminds me of a less dirty-guitared "The Young Knives" but I'd say these guys are a lot more competant at playing their instruments. Got a very English feel to it. When the chorus started it reminded me of "The Housemartins" - but not in a bad way. This has been a really refreshing way to start my day - forget drinking orange juice! ;-) L x

Well well - thanks for pointing me in the direction of this track, Alan. Based on the other tracks of yours I've listened to, this is deservedly your favourite. Don't get me wrong - there's still things that niggle, like the vocal line's phrasing / melody sounding like it was recorded backwards (listen and you;ll hear what I mean) but there's some nice melodic touches in there and I like the bit in the middle where it gets more sparse - adds more texture. I was waiting for something a bit bigger chorus-wise, but you can't have everything. If the arrangement was a bit less flabby it could have squeezed another point. Alan - I can safely say you took me by surprise with this one. Buy yourself a can of pop to celebrate the thawing of the "Ice Queen" (LOL!) .Anyone else with suggestions of their (or someone else's) tracks that you think will picque my interest, drop 'em in my music chat and I'll get round to it... Lx
